Hiring an agent for your Canadian PR application is an “immigration suicide”

Updated: Nov 1, 2019

This may seem like a very bold statement to make; however I would stand by it.

Let me first talk about what qualifies me to make a statement like that

When we thought about moving to Canada in 2018, we had no idea where to start. The information is scattered across different forums, YouTube videos and Canada’s official website and there was no structure to anything – which left us with 2 options:

  1. Hire an agent do it for us – that’s what most people do.

  2. Do our own research and file the application on our own – make mistakes, correct them and move on.

We went with Option 2 (thankfully!), and soon realized that option 1 is a total scam. Once you get your Canadian PR, you realize that the process isn’t as complicated and giving USD 1000-3000 to consultants is a total waste of time and money!

Beware of scammers (aka agents). Ask why?

These “so called” agents promise you the world including a fancy job on landing, PR in 3 months and a whole lot of bullshit that is too good to be true.

In the last 18 months, I have talked to so many people who have either been scammed by these agents (taking their money and never picking their call again) or made a fatal error in the application which led to the application getting rejected – and mind you, there are no refunds (for both time & money)

Moving to Canada is probably the most important step you would take in your life! How can you leave this to the mercy of an agent who has nothing to do with whether you live or die? Even if your agent is legit, a small error in your application or a mistake of uploading the wrong document can cost you a chance of moving to your dreamland. It happens all the time to a lot of people. The question is, can YOU afford that?

Agents are a scam. I get it! But, where do I start…?

I know that I have been ranting about the problem, without actually giving you any solution. There is in fact a lot of information available on the Canada’s official website, multiple YouTube channels that explain the process and Facebook support groups which help answer your queries. The problem is, it requires time to research through all of that before you embark on your own journey of Immigrating to Canada - personally, it was very overwhelming for us, when we started.

So, we came up with a solution. My wife & I created an e-book series. It’s 100 pages of pure gold and includes everything there is to know about moving to Canada. This is worth months of research and our own experience of applying for Canadian PR. And the best part is, it’s all free.

So if you stumbled upon this post before hiring an agent, congratulations, you just saved a whole lot of time & money 😊 Just go through these e-books and equip yourself with all the knowledge you need in order to confidently file your PR application on your own! Like I said – it’s probably the most important step you would take in your life. Do not leave it in the hands of a stranger!

You must be wondering what do I have to gain from doing this for free?

Well, not everything is for commercial gain. I am doing this for my passion of writing. This is my first attempt at it, and I wish to be a professional writer sometime in the near future 😊

If you find these e-books helpful, you could potentially buy us a cup of coffee when we meet in downtown Toronto sometime very soon (hopefully) 😊
